Qa1 shocks

#1 Post by Hitchcock » Sun May 22, 2011 7:56 pm

I just ordered rear coil overs for my junker. Picked them over the strange. Strange did not have fronts for my vette. Running a mismatch would just bug me. Anyone else use them?

If it matters, I'm running Alstons single-adjustables in the back and QA1-R single ajustables in the front.

I got singe adjustable's. I could not afford or justify doubles for a ten second car. I know the doubles are a lot better and they will allow me to grow into them, and the singles I will some day out grow. but its what I could afford right now.

Singles won't hurt you in your case. I ran a single on my car last year that didn't work very well. I sold the afco's to a buddy and that gave me a chance to match the qa1 r's on the front with then new and improved coil overs on the back.

I use the AFCO Double Adj at the rear and the AFCO non adjustable (80/20) at the front.
With them we got the new ET record of our class...9,368sec with 1,572sec at the 60 foot time.
A week after this race we tested few shock's adjustments and got 9,049sec with 1,4sec at the 60 foot time. This was a non official race...then, this time was not official...we are looking forward to the next race!!! :thumb:
Now I believe the car needs an ARB as soon as possible...

I never had an experience with QA1, but we are getting very good results with the AFCO stuff!!
I'm well supported by Mr. Eric Saffell (eesaffell@afcoracing.com) from AFCO Racing.
This car runs with an in line 6 cylinder engine turbocharged...our most common GM engine here in Brazil...

Thanks!!

The trick I've got good results here is to use the rear double shocks with a lighter spring to work with storage energy...Thus I can control the shock's compression travel, the pitch rotation...tire shake...

Depending of the shocks feature (dyno graph) we can get a lot of options for different shock's brand...a linear force under compression is not the best option in comparison (as an example) with a AFCO Big Gun Series which it's better under lower speeds of the shocks...when the force line is increased instantly.

With just 2 clicks on the compression valve, the tire shake stopped at the same time...

This is my case about it...
Thanks!
