Before and After Dave's Morgan's Seminar
Howdy all,
I realize that it's hard for people to relate to what I can do to help them so I'd like to share a couple of videos with you.
These are of Glen Lakins 9.90 Nova. He attended a seminar and workshop at Street & Strip Performance in Louisville. During the workshop, we readjusted the IC (made it longer) and tweaked the pinion angle a little. When he got home with the car, he ordered different front springs that I recommended.
In the first video, you see a car that looks like a bunch of Pro-Tree cars that you have watched. The left-front tire does come up for a short time (watch the wheel's rotation), but it doesn't carry the front end very well. Notice there is little pitch rotation. The 60-foot was 1.34.
In the second video, you see a big difference. Good initial pitch rotation (due to the spring change) and it carries the front end A LOT further (due to the IC change.) The 60-foot time went to 1.29.
So here's my question, what would you pay to gain .05 in 60-feet?

Quite the change...could leaf spring folks get the same results?

BracketNova,
Yep, you could take advantage of the lighter springs in the front to get the nose to come up faster, but the IC is fixed in your car. I'd look at a frotn spring change and a numerically-higher first gear ratio (to help keep it up.)

May we follow those Spring Selection Tables that the companies suggest on their catalogs??? Or do you work lighter than that??
Have a great 2013!

Jeff
