To much traction =( "Dead Hook" ) is a bad thing with a clutch car.
You will need some tire spin = ( "Wheel Speed" ) to get the car moving.

Your car had to much wheel speed at your last track test.
As you make changes things will improve. What we do NOT want is to much traction = broken parts.

This vid shows slo-mo wheel speed at launch...All these car leave with a clutch.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HldiiDmvTxI
Did you see the tires spin just a little, 2-3 turns/revolutions, then start to grab/hook the track.
All these Pro racers also have an adjustable clutch so that as the tires hook up with the track the clutch will slip while the engine rpm is tring to match the transmission/driveshaft rpm.

Since you do not have an adjustable clutch (yet) you may need to spin the tires just a little longer.

An automatic car can dead hook because the torque conveter allows the slip needed the get the car moving.

You do not really know if you still have "bad traction" untill you go back to the track. The changes you have allready done may have fixed some of that wheel speed/traction.

The track, if well prepared (sticky) is the true test. Street driving will not tell you much.

I would keep the leaf. It is probably helping, it's not a problem in my opinion.

you're right Bill , and I am very pessimistic, this car has never done a good 60ft, and when I increased the power of the engine, seems to be worse....until i will put 'on track we can not know...saw a lot of cars less powerful than mine, raise the wheels off the ground ... mina have almost 1000 HP has never even raised the wheel left, your opinion, whether to improve traction can lift the front wheels on my 3500 lb Cuda ?

Do NOT use any N2o untill you have improved your 60'

I'd recommend that you take out some ignition timing (less power) untill you can get the car to leave with out burning up the tires.
In your case I bet a spagetti dinner less is better! Less power = better ET.

And yes cars with less power get hooked up faster, that just makes sense.

Yes your car will do wheel stands.

Untill then, we don't want this to happen... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkB2rMIfXW0

Just few months, a RF fender, and some other work it did this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tC_p-VUa ... ure=relmfu

So you can see I went from spinning and crashing to up on the bumper pretty easy!

Raf - wanted to be sure to point out that it's perfectly acceptable to skip over that whole run-into-the-wall thing. Bill just did that to wake people up. You can go straight to the up-on-the-bumper thing.

Yeah, what Bill said !!!! :smt002

Remember, try to get some good low angle HD videos from the rear quarter view for both your burn out and your launch. You can tell a lot about how the suspension is behaving, how your hook is and what the weight transfer is like from the right video clip.

Good luck, have fun and make us proud :thumb: :smt003
