70 Nova K-Member

Who makes a direct bolt in, lite weight, K-member for a 70 Nova with tubular a-arms?

I just looked at Heidt's, and that one doesn't look like it saves any weight.

The one from Chassisworks looks nice, but it fits 62-67 Nova's only.

Sorry, forgot to add, this will be for a race car.

The 68-72 Nova's don't have a k member, they have a sub frame. Smith Racecraft makes the nicest one of any one IMO. Very high quality stuff and you can lose 150lbs off the front. Here is link to this website.

It can be a little pricey depending on how far you go with brakes, tubular a arms, rack, ect.. But it is high end stuff and you get what ya pay for. I plan to get one of these sometime in the future. They also have videos of a complete install on a nova to show how nice it goes in.

Hope this helps,

Thanks Adam,

I'm sitting here trying to figure out why I mentioned a k member when I knew they had a subframe....

Thanks, I'll pass on the info.

I asked Chris Fletcher one of our members, he's running one of those subframes in his 1st Gen Camaro which is the same as the Nova, he said "It's a milodon 31187 it's 4 3/4 deep in the front and 8 1/2 in rear hope that helps"

That's Chris above ^^^

Tuning... well need a lot more of it haha.. I did manage to get all the way down the track on the little 275 radials at the last race but really had to kill the power. Hope to continue to improve it next time out if I've made the right changes and the track is sticky. Mark's carb suggestions did help me clean up my idle a lot, was a big help!
