multileafs to split monos

Hello all,

I purchased some split monos for my nova, but I am going to weight till after the points is done to put them on.

It is a 74 Nova with a SBC 406, currently has caltracs with the multileafs. Car runs low 6.30s, high 6.20s with a sixty in the mid 1.35 range. I have menscer double adjustable all the way round.

Car has always work the best with the rear shocks really loose. The spring rate is higher on the split monos. What kind of suspension adjustments should I expect to make? I am concerned that the split monos will make it to stiff?

Anyone make this change, appreciate any suggestions or comments.

Thanks

I'd be real surprised if your split mono's are actually stiffer than your multileafs? That seems a bit odd, you sure about that. I'd suggest bolting the split-mono's on and try them. At the very least you should lose some weight in the rear.

Anybody know what the spring rate for stock multileafs are? From what I have read, they are in the 125-150 range. The new monos are 205.

Thanks

Seems like 630s and that 60ft with a NA 406 pretty darn good to me. Can't hurt to try it.

No complaints on how the car works.

Got my new motor in, car went a new best of 606@111, was going 1.29-1.30 sixties.

I am one of those people that believes I can always find a way to make it better.

Those of you that run the calvert split monos, just curious what your spring rates are and what your corner weights are on the car?

Thanks
