Slider cleaning/Lubing?

#1 Post by luv454 » Wed Jun 29, 2016 11:24 am

How often do you remove the sliders and clean them, re-lube them?
Also what do you use to lube them or how often?

Thanks,

Not sure which model you have, but most have sealed bearings. Can't hurt to take everything apart once a season and inspect stuff, see if you have a bearing getting loose or anything. Look for the bearing digging into the slider, that's a good indication you don't have anything to prevent overtightening of the spring bolt. Most sliders should have a tube that spaces the bearings out that the bolt goes through, but some don't.
