I have a 3 year old trailer (econotrailer)that has only about 2,000 miles on it maybe ,
it looks like it has those greasable bearing buddie type deals on it
how often should these be greased? once a year?and do I just pop off the rubber caps to get to the grease fittings?

I check the bearings every spring and every time I pull it, I feel for excess heat in the hub area when I stop for gas or get to where I'm going.

The bearing buddies are OK I guess. Its better to pull the hubs and inspect the bearings and put in fresh grease instead of just adding to the old grease with the bearing buddy.

Also, you don't want to pump is so much grease through the bearing buddy that you push out the seal on the back side.

I have a 1995 econo trailer( bought it new) Ive done the bearings once and its been all over the country it probably has at least 25,000 miles on it. I dont recommend this but so far so good, I am planning on a complete redo this year.
