Solar Panel

I've been thinking about putting a small solar panel on the roof of the trailer to keep the winch battery charged. So far I really haven't had an issue with the battery being low since it charges off the truck and I usually have at least an hour drive to the track. But it might be handy. Anyone done this and seen the benefit? Sure is nice having a battery in there so the lights work any time I need them.

I run a trickle charger on mine while it's parked, so it's also got 110 out there all the time as well.

The solar panel seems like a good idea though. Are you thinking about mounting something permanent or a temporary mount?

I was thinking permanent mount and let it trickle charge all the time.

I brought the battery into the garage for the winter and have it on a trickle charger. Same for the 4-wheeler and lawn mower. Really seems to help those little batteries live.

I've got a long extension cord I can run out to the trailer for A/C power but that's not convenient for when you just need light in there for a few minutes.

You thinking about gluing it down or ? I'd kinda hate drilling holes into the roof causing leaks.

Maybe a mount on the side that you can disconnect when traveling?

No way I'm drilling any holes, so mounting it is one of the bigger questions. Not sure if auto trim tape would hold it or not That stuff is pretty stout.
