Converter Recommendation

Looking for some help. I have a 69 nova with full Calvert suspension and 275 drag radial. It should weigh around 3500-3700 pounds. What size and stall will I need to optimize my combo?

496 BBC
13.1
268 and 274 @.050
.750 intake .735 exhaust
108 LS
Holley HP 1000 carb
No nitrous
Turbo 400 full manual
transbrake
Dana 60, 4.10 spool
Little street use but would like to have the option to cruise around if needed.

Don't laugh, but I have a basically new B&M Holeshot 36-3800 converter. Will this even come close to working?

Thanks!

Do NOT try to use that converter with a trans brake! That converter was not intended for a trans brake and you will brake it , that would make B&M look bad when it was not their fault as that converter is NOT designed to take the abuse a trans brake will put on it.
The motor should make peak HP around 7000 and peak torque around 57-6100 (depending on heads)
An 8" or 9" could be made to work well in this application for the way you want to race and drive it. The Neal Chance converter costs $1199

All I can say is that a good converter is worth every penny.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. As for the heads, they are Brodix 2 plus rectangle ports.
