Thanks

Do they make some type of a thin gasket to put between the fastener and the painted surface to keep things from getting too scratched up?

Leave them as-is. Never seen a gasket for between the Dzus and paint. The ones I've removed have never scratched the paint, at least not what couldn't be polished out.

Re: Dzus Fasteners
I got away with painting the ones I had on my bumpers rally silver, but seldom took those off. I don't think the paint would last long on the hood or trunk. What kind of Dzus fasteners you been looking at Bruce? This is what most use;

Re: Dzus Fasteners
John,
I have the kind, you have pictured.
I just wasn't sure if they'd hold up to be painted or not.
I'm using them on my bumpers and rear deck lid. As soon as I get my new hood, they'll also be on that as well.
Thanks
Bruce

I have the ones as pictured above...I've often wondered if they could be anodized. Just never got around to searching for someone to do it.
