tunnel ram injection for sbc

#1 Post by fridaydriver » Sun Jan 14, 2007 7:05 am

I was surfing the web and I found a site (goodvibesracing.com) that has some mechanical injection kits "bugcatcher" that you can put on a tunnel ram.
Does anyone here had heard about it or have some experience with this system?
It looks interesting and feedbacks would be helpfull.
Thanks!

Decades ago that was a hot trick. Some guys even put carb base plates on the TR and then drilled the runnings for injectors.

Forgive an old man thinking of his youth.

Tunnel Ram Fuel Injection

I have seen a few guys at the track still running that setup and they seem to like it. I would not consider running this on the street, would be a race only kind of application. I have seen that same tunnelram bug catcher adapted to electronic fuel injection that would be a lot more streetable if that is your intent.

Car will be for race more than for street because the track is just 3 miles away from my place.
I talked with a guy that has one similar and he said to me that throttle response is incredible and performance are consistent. He also said like you that it is not good at all for street, but it is possible to lean the system a bit with an hand activated valve to be able to cruise to the track. If I don't the plugs won't live very long cause this system works on the rich side.
I called a certain Jim from this company and he said that he sells ten times more tunnel system than the blower version.

I guess it worth to continue the search of additionnal info.

Thanks for comments and any others will be appreciated !
