I have been playing with the idea of changing cams. I used the Comp Cams cam quest 6 program and found the XM 278 makes the best power and torque numbers for my particular combo. Being an extreme marine cam how would this work on the street? I have 4.10 gears, TH-400 with a 2500 RPM stall converter. If need be I would change to higher stall speed converter. My truck is a toy I don't drive it everyday so being streetable doesnt really matter that much to me.

My brother has the same cam for his 67 C-10. He hasn't installed it yet, but it's what Comp Cams recommended for his application. He has all of the same stuff as your truck (trans, gears and converter), and it is supposed to have a mildly lumpy idle. It should also have a pretty flat torque curve, I think.

I dont really care how it sounds as long as it runs good. You can actually hear a sound clip of the cam on the comp cams website. In my opinion it sounds pretty wicked for something that would be running on the street.
