Hi, has anyone tried to run a .125 over 454 on the street (481), The block is filled to the bottom of the water pump. Will it overheat or is it just like running a 406 sbc filled ? Thanks-

My 427 block is filled to the bottom of the water pump and what I found was that oil temps started climbing pretty good after about 30 minutes - about time to shut if off and let it cool down. Short drives it will probably be fine for you, but probably going to want a oil cooler any longer than that in the summer. My water temp always did real good out on the highway where I could move some air through the radiator, but poking around town and it would start heating up after about 10 minutes or so. Maybe a bigger fan would help mine out, but I don't really drive it that much, just a cruise night or two during the summer.
