Header Temp

#1 Post by novaz » Sat May 21, 2005 3:49 pm

Not sure if this is a problem
The hoses on my trans cooler run very close maybe 3/4" to the passenger side header collector, so my concern is Heat even though I have a seperate trans cooler, as a temporary measure I have wrapped the collector in THERMO TEC heat shield my question is will this likely make that header run much hotter and affect my engine tune.
Thanks

The wrap will not change the tune-up of the car. The best measure is to make a heat shield from a piece of 1/8" aluminum that doesnt contact either the hose or the header but goes between them. Also make sure you run a good trans cooler.. B&M make a very nice one that you can use AN fittings on.. Hope this helps
