Re: carb for automatic
If you are comfortable with the vac secondary carb and its working for you, theres no sence in messing with it, but if you are like most guys (and me), you probably want DO want to mess with it. haha.
I'd say try a double pumper, but thats just me. I think they make more sence to tune too.

Re: carb for automatic
You might borrow one from a friend, to try before you buy.
But like someone said; if what you have is working, do you really need
to change it for how you're using the car?

Re: carb for automatic
My street Monte SS curently is running low 12's 12.06 to be exact. I have the 870 Street avenger vac secd. carb. I have the same prob, people telling me to put a mech carb on and my ETs will drop and get more consistant times. I'm very happy with the way my car runs even though I want the 11's soooo BAD. BTW 125 shot is in my future. What do you guys think I should do?

I have a 87 monte 383 I went from a 3310 vac to a 4779 and the car went a 10th. The 60 stayed the same 1.61. I only switched to see if it would run closer to the number and it did.

Good god it is way different. Car takes off like I thought it should. Traction is now an isue. I had to go up alot on the pump shot 42/45 has a 4.5 pv. The jets out of the box will work 75/80.
