Worth the trouble to switch?

#1 Post by mytmouz » Thu Dec 17, 2009 5:26 pm

I have a 428 sbc, with a solid roller, .660 ish, ported track 1's, etc. The current intake is a ported Super Victor, and the current carb is a 950 hp. The intake is plumbed for the same fogger as the one below. How much gain do you think i would see with the swap to the intake below and a 1050 hp, (One is available local). I had a 406 and a 377 with 1050's in the LUV and the 950 was pretty much equal to them, (I swapped it out on them both) but this one is a little different animal...

I got a Motown SBC intake flanged for a Dominator carb for a sweet deal. It is gasket matched to a Felpro 1207 intake gasket. I plumbed it with an NOS fogger i had lying in the spare parts stash.

As long as the intake isn't bigger than the head and the ports line up correctly. I would say go for it. Might be a touch lazy though may need more camshaft.
