It will be here soon!

#1 Post by supernova » Tue Nov 02, 2010 11:26 am

I'm getting a new short block from Reher-Morrison Racing Engines soon. It will come with higher compression nitrous pistons (from 11.3-1 to 13.5-1). And a 10.2 deck Dart block. The rest of the original combo will stay be the same. :thumb:

I should be able the pick up some HP with the higher compression pistons. I'm changing to the better parts so I can put more nitrous in it and not worry about breaking anything.

I'm staying with the 525 c.i. 4.310 bore X 4.500 stroke. I just getting some stronger parts and uping the compression some.

Sounds like a nice piece but why stay with 525"? Do you have a weight/cid rule ? I know your combo was haulin ass already with only a few passes just curious as to why not get a few more cubes for the same $$$$$. Do the Dart blocks need any special parts compared to the stock GM block besides the taller lifters?

Staying under a 530 C.I. motor will allow my stock suspension car in a lot of other classes. Going over will exclude me from racing those classes with the C.I. rules.

I've been running a stock block with pistons that warn't ment for a lot of nitrous so I'm up grading to stronger parts. The motor being a 4.5 stroke makes a lot of torque for a motor this size. Going to a bigger bore to make a bigger c.i. motor would be hard without more head work. My heads would probably work better on a smaller motor. :thumb:

The lifter is the only thing I know of and of coarse my RedZone lifters will have to be replaced. :smt005 :smt005 :smt005 :smt003

How much heavier you reckon it will be? My Dart block was a lot heavier then the OEM tall deck.
