Aluminum heads, and head studs

What are you guys putting on your rocker studs with aluminum heads, and what are you torquing them to? Every tech line has a different answer for this. 40-75 pounds, and everything from 30 weight oil, moly lube, to loctite. So, I trust you guys with your gear and advice more than some douche answering a phone for ARP, or Brodix.

And also, what are you guys using to seal your head studs on a stock block? Did some digging on another forum, and Permatex #2 was the general concensus. so I got some of that but wanted to double check with you guys first. Thanks. Just for fun here is a current pic, of where my junk is at now...

if they don't go in to water jackets you can use oil if they do i use teflon paste and torque them to 65 to 75lbs in that range you will be fine

I was told to use the Loctite 256, teflon paste for the studs. Heck I used that stuff now, on everything the runs in contact with water.

Permatex #2 is what I have used as well. Nasty stuff but works good.

Rob, I had to take a buncha crap out of it to make a few steps foward. When it goes back together this time around, it will be pretty close to doing the final assembley stuff.

i bet you can't wait for those steps to come to a end. but when it is all done and after a few dozen runs you will miss working on it. i always have to change something to so i can keep working on it
