One of the quietest cars I've heard with 4" exhaust is Rick Merriman's Bu. I'm not sure what mufflers he had on it, but it did have an X-Pipe. I think those help quiet them down a lot. They were ovals - maybe Spintech's ?

I sent him a message, but probably won't hear back from him for a while, he's working on the road and not online probably.

Talked to him this morning, Rick has used Bassani Stainless Ovals and he's used Dynatech Split Flows. He thought the Dyna-Tech's were a little better flowing muffler. After smashing the crap out of his Lemon's headers he has switched over to fender exits. He's interested in selling his 4" X-Pipe, and probably his mufflers too if you're interested.

The dynatech split flows is a good muffler. They are much quieter than flowmaster outlaws that we have on the car now. They must flow as good also, because there was no et difference between the two.
