John, the floats used to be notched and sealed with an acrylic like clear nail polish. Most of the newer floats are closed cell, and don't have to be sealed if they are cut. I prefer to use floats that have the notches molded, Holley and Quick Fuel both now have them, but my favorite is the Braswell floats. They are an overall better float to use, just a bit more money for them. If you need any Holley or Quick Fuel parts, send an e-mail to my friend Bruce below, he can save you a little on any thing you may need. Tell him I sent you.

Thanks for the info Mark - that clear acrylic is what I would guess was on the float. I'll make a note to get ahold of your buddy next time I need some parts.

Sounds like PS has gotten too big for their britches if they can't be bothered to give customer support.

I called Pro Systems again today and finally got a call back from Patrick after leaving a message with his assistant. He did acknowledge that sealant on the floats was likely bad, said they need to be changed every couple years, and this one hadn't been apparently. Anyway, I did get an answer from him on my air bleed question, so going to make some changes to that and see how it works.

The 'sealant on the floats' ? Huh ?

All the floats I've seen with these jet / access reliefs in them were either formed or stamped that way. Are they modifying these in-house ?

I believe so. I don't know why, or if it's still a common practice. He wasn't in a real talkative mood.
