I am ready to speed up my little truck and I'm wondering where to start with the nitrous. I built it to run N/A but would like to see what it will do on maybe a 150 shot. I have a 383 with domes, 13.3:1 compression. Solid roller cam 256/268 at .050", .640"/.604" lift with 1.6/1.5 rockers. ICL is 102 and LSA is 106. Edelbrock Performer RPM heads and Hurricane intake (both heads and intake are heavily ported). The heads have a small runner. Probably 175-180 cc after porting. The truck runs about 6.80s to 6.90s depending on weather. It's a S-10 with stock suspension, caltracs, and 28x10 Hoosiers. 8" stall probably around 4600 rpms, spragless, top cut stator, and fin angle was changed to tighten up the top end slip in case I spray it.
The motor makes about 245 psi of cylinder pressure if you spin it over with the starter 2 or 3 times and make the piston move fast enough. (That is if my gage ain't lying!) So I'm wondering with the cam I have, how much can spray it before the N2O starts to climb the intake runner and blow my carb off? And do you guys think I need to retard the cam any? I've talked to a couple of cam designers on the phone, and one says I shouldn't spray it over 100 shot. Another says it will probably go to 200, but I probably want see much gain after 150-180. The main thing I'm concerned with is the big POP! So, where do I start. I have a NOS Cheater kit with 150,180,210, and 250 standard jet assortment.
How Much N2O will it handle?

Shouldn't have any problems with a 150 shot. I'd highly recommend putting some good fuel in it, C16 for example.

Thanks John! I'm not familiar with C16, but I have a Sunoco dealer locally. Should I go for the 114? I think that's as high as it gets around here. I might be able to get some VP fuel also.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yeah, the 114 would be a good I think.
