It's not a good idea to leave the lines pressurized or hold pressure against the solenoids for an extended period of time. Also you need be able to purge the air out of the line before you launch the car so it will hit imediately and fuel and nitrous mixtures will be more consistant at the start. But as for the filter, I doubt it will matter either way. It's just a screen.

Without a purge, it probably won't hit as hard, which isn't always a bad thing. If you wanted to manually, turn the bottle on then crack the line at the silenoid. I always wait to turn the bottle on just before a pass, then turn it off after and bleed the pressure from the line. Have fun, Walt

Purge it through the motor before the start. I purge a 250 shot through the motor by just hitting button a few times (on-off quickly).
When done turn off the bottle and purge it until the line is empty.
Or turn the bottle off and crack the line. Old school :thumb:

I dont have a purge either I purge a 150 through the motor. Now this could get you in trouble if the bottle pressure is really high because you cant purge down to the pressure you want. After the race I just close the bottle and crack the line. Im going to change this and ad a purge the only reason I even have nitrous was for a grudge race so we threw it on real quick one night before heading out.

I use to run NOS on my SBC and had to put on a purge kit to avoid a bad bogg i would get on the line as I hit the NOS as soon as the throttle went WOT. In the heat between rounds the same thing would happen (big Bogg). You need to purge a little bit every round to avoid the problem. It is also good to empty the line after you turn the bottle off. It makes for a good show also. :-)
