NOs Kits

#1 Post by Bruce69Camaro » Wed Oct 20, 2010 6:12 am

I would like to know who makes the "best buy" for the buck, system?

Of course I know the name NOS but then Supernova metioned he uses Wislon and I knew they made intakes, but never knew the offered a NOS kit.

I'm looking for a simple kit that has something up to 250hp. I was told a 250hp kit would take care of my needs to hit 9's, so that's all I looking to do.

I was thinking that the NOS Cheater system would be a good buy but being new to the NOS world, I thought it's better to ask questions now then later.

Should I also consider a purge kit? Maybe one of those kits that has a LED light to make the fog look pretty.... :smt005 NOT!

Thanks

Bruce
Those who think they know it all have no way of finding out they don't.........

Get something like a Big Shot Kit, and yes get a purge solenoid.

If you get the cheater it won't be long you'll be wanting to upgrade it to a big shot or something similar. You can spray less than 200 with it if you want.

Best bang for buck is Edelbrock Rpm Performer 50-250Hp single stage plate kit...used one with a 4150 flange carb for years and NEVER had an issue with it... Think they are cheaper then NOS.

I now have a NOS Big Shot Plate that i bought used for the Dominator carb and I relly like it as well...

if u look into getting the cheater to big shot upgrade its like 200 bucks. if u get the extra celenoid its missing in kit(80 bucks) then all u need i believe is a bottle and brackets, so if u wanted a bigger bottle anyway like a 15 lb then you can put a system together cheaper than buying a big shot outright...

Nitrous Express has good product, but Ny-Trex Bare Bones kit looks interesting too.

I thought I was the only one using Nytrex. I've got their cross plate and split shot solenoid. The solenoid is really cool since its got a huge orifice but is really low amp draw.

I ran a big shot system in my Camaro. Had problems with the mesh filters coming loose and blocking solenoids. Was a hellova thing to find too. (Replaced fuel pumps, lines etc).

I now run two Speedtech systems in my Nova and haven't had a prob. I took the filters out and just run big cone filters in the snap on hose attachments at the bottles.

I have plenty of spares, solenoids, timers, relays etc. Should last well into the future.
