Square Jetting

Square Jetting
Hi guyz, tell me, a few seasons ago I read about square jetting a fogger. Since the HP gains seemed great I gave it a shot lolol 1 dead motor, Now I am fussy wen it comes to fuel pressures and know that it was safe or so I thought!
Now after reading some of the past questions and answers I see that some of you are square jetting still???
Can someone sheed some light on this? or is this rare?
Cheers

Square jetting on "most" typical systems is generally considered pretty safe Tom, like on a NOS plate square at 5.5 psi is typically not too far off especially on a low hp setting. Now if you were pushing the limits of the system, it's possible that something didn't flow what it should have (solenoid or ?) and you didn't get what you thought you were getting. Or maybe something else was wrong, like timing, not good enough fuel, plugs, etc.
In my opinion it's a pretty good idea to sneak up on tune ups starring at a lower HP setting to get a good feel for it then start working your way up using the same ratios. And a even better idea yet is to flow each tune up to make sure the entire combo is capable of moving what it should move.

Hey there, I think the result of that meltdown ( holed 2 pistons) was due mainly to us running a Bigshot plate, as we never flowed the manifold and it only had port matching. We always ran lean on the longest runners... That is why I went to a fogger. But we were launching with the plate then about 30foot hit the fogger.
Now we only run a fogger and all cylinders are close. We dont get to run every weekend as you guyz can and tryn to get things sorted takes a while :)

Yep thats what we figured, Thats why we decided to bite the bullet and buy an motorsport block and start again.
We had a bad combanation and with the crap manifold and to much Nos she melted, actually we used to go thru a couple blocks/rebuilds a season. And our season is not long lololol
We have a good combo now, 640hp off the dyno and thats on the motor, So with the xtra big $$ we have put into this motor I,m being very carefull with wat I do...
