Nitrous and Nitrogen

#1 Post by MPE Data Acquisition » Tue Jan 02, 2007 3:00 pm

What do you guys know about using Nitrogen to keep the Nitrous bottle pressure constant.
I've been trying to find info on this. Someone told me that the 2 gases mix causing problems and someone else told me no it's fine.....But I can't find much info about it so you guys may be able to shed some light on this for me.

No-one has tried this or their mates haven't tried it?......

I've been told you can get a bottle valve that has a port for the Nitrogen to be plumbed so it pushes on top of the Nitrous.....Even if I could find out who makes them etc so I can talk with their technical guys to see what it's all about would be good.

I'd really like to talk with someone that's used it though.

Johnny Barb's done extensive testing with this, I'm not sure if he wants to discuss it or not. Hang loose a while maybe he'll comment on it.

Hey Greig

Nitrogen will mix with nitrous but the problems you run into are you cant get all the nitrogen out and it tends to build pressure easier and can be a problem using bottle warmers and blankets.

What are you running that you think you need a push ? There are alot of bottle vavles the have a push port on them. Compressed air is the best to use.
