Spark Plug wires

#1 Post by 79 Camaro » Tue May 22, 2007 12:12 pm

Hey guys,
I have a big block chevy with a Accel Billitech distributer and a 7al2 MSD box. I have been looking for a set of good wires to replace the Taylor Wires that I have had on my motor for quite some time. But they have to have 45* angle boot on the bottom that plugs on to the spark plug(header clearence). I was looking at the MSD Super conductors but I cannot find the right ones. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am not real picky on brand, I just want a good quality plug wire because I will be running nitrous soon.

Thanks
Adam

I guess they just call them 135* instead of 45*? I always thought it was "straight" "45*" and "90*".... But I just know that they cant be straight or 90*. Can anyone hook me up a Part # for MSD, Taylor, and Moroso? What do you guys think is the best?

I use Taylors on just about everything.I dont like Moroso wires the outer jacket always rips when you take them in and out of the wire loom. The MSD wires will bend but the boots are very long compared to the Taylor wires.Taylor makes a stainless boot cover if your boots are too close to the header you can try those or Jacobs Electronics has wires with a ceramic boot pricey though I think around $180.
Adam here are some MSD #s Universal "hei" type cap wuth multi angle boot 31183 (red) 31189 (black)
The premade kits are listed as (wires below header) not over the valve cover "hei" type # 35609 black
"points " type cap # 31603 red & 31609 black.
You can buy a universal ste and a set of 115* boots pn# 8853 they look like a 45* but are much shorter than the bendable type.
Man thats a lot of typing .I would still use the Taylors

wires. they clear headers no problem.... and have a 10.4 mm
outside diameter... may require you to get new looms.
