Alternator mount question

Well I have been working on other areas of the car and right now it's back at the chassis shop getting exhaust put on it. I was looking at it with my chassis guy and we decided it would probably just be easiest to drill and tap the bolt holes in the block and buy a standard snug mount kit. If I put it on the passenger side and used a regular size alt I would have to move my regulators up higher anyway. A mini alternator would have made it cost more to rig up than to just buy a kit .

Hey julven, How did that CSR kit work out for ya? I just bought a new CSR water pump and I just ran into the same problem that you guys are having. I looked at CSR's mounting kit for the alternator they have for a BIG block. Its is a lil expensive, but if it is a easy install and fix for this problem then I will get one. Just wondering if you got one and how it worked for ya. Oh and I am running a 3 rib crank pully and I am assuming that it will line up with the alternator when mounted to this CSR braket??????????
P.s. On summit it says it is a driver side mount.

O I really hate that. Also I hate when they send you the wrong thing and you have to send it back and wait another week or two.
Well if this is the only piece that I need to make everything work then I might want to get mine on BACKORDER too. Where did you order it from? I think Summit might have it in stock?

As a former owner of a speed shop I know all about backorders, sometimes its not the manufacturer its just the retailers supplier. You guys should contact CSR and ask them for a list of reatilers that carry their stuff and I bet you can find the parts you want. You might also be able to buy it direct but that somtimes means more $$$$.
Mine is on back order with CSR direct. I am not in a big push yet the car is still in the body shop. So for now I going to hold but you guys know how it is I will want it the day it is out of the shop.LOL! 79 Camaro you might check the price on CSR site I am pretty sure it was about the same price as Summit if they don't have it.Jason
I'm facing the same problem. I ordered a Moroso bracket, but it won't work. I found a vendor on ebay that sells them for less than CSI:
