Autolite AR 134

#1 Post by Disturbed66 » Sat May 26, 2012 3:28 pm

Hi All,
I'm new to the world of full on drag racing, not drag racing in general. But I have a question concerning spark plug gap on a 468 Chevy running alcohol fuel. We are swapping over from gas to alcohol. And I was wondering what gap we should set our AR 134 plugs to? Any advice, help, and/or opinons would be greatly appreciated. If anyone needs more info before a reply just ask.
Thanks In Advance. :thumb:

You don't want to use any big gaps, the larger the gap, the more firepower it takes to jump that gap, and that increases with the amount of compression the engine has. Leave the wide gap stuff to OEM lean burn engines, it doesn't have a place in a race car. .020 - .025 or thereabouts would probably work good for you, and it's also likely close to what those are set to out of the box.
