I didnt know ATI made a spragless converter. I see you're from Moore,Ok. Did you happen to go to the Clash of the Titans last weekend? I ran the bracket race, won one round, brokeout second round, then got my picture taken with a couple Budweiser models

Oh, and dont forget Bob..... You also unloaded the car off the trailer a second time to make some test passes
You were trying to bust a 10.20 pass weren't you??
I have you on tape

I was hoping for anything better than a 10.43 After I brokeout running 10.43 on a .46 and scrubbed 6 mph or so, I figured I could come back after the car cooled down, air cooled off and at least go low 10.30's but it wasnt meant to be. I sure like that T Town track.

I was suprised that you didnt bust out a 10.30 or so. The air did get pretty cool and I am sure the track prep was pretty good. Tulsa is a nice track. I need to go there more often, being how I have only had the camaro there 1 time. But I love that Mokan!! I live 60 miles from ATI. I have there trans,( 1-powerglide = 2yrs,1- T-350 =10yrs, 1-T-400 =12yrs), converter and balancer in 3 cars. Never any problems. All of ther parts are new, not reused or recon. If you give them the right info you will go faster with the right stuff. I have found there parts to be tough and deadly consistant. There moto is RACE TO WIN but you have to pay there price to play with there toys. But then what is cheap on a race car?

I think everyone has good and bad stories to tell about ATI. I know Harold bought a brand new TH400 with everything you can get in one and it made three passes behind their 598. Not sure what broke in it but maybe he'll chime in on it, I know he picked it up from Flip at the Clash race after getting repaired.
I think a lot of this depends on the power level you're working with and the application. If it's a high hp car then perhaps a more specialized transmission builder might be in order.
Disclaimer: I have clients in both the Torque Converter and Transmission business, I could put a shameless plug here for them but I'm trying to be non-biased with this comment. My best advice is to look at other cars that are running similar setups that yours is and ask are they having problems with their parts? If not what are they using? A transmission that lives behind a 2700lb vega with a N/A Small block complete different story comparied to a 600ci twin turbo monster at 3000lbs.

You are so right John. That was my point about the right info will get the right parts. Alot of times people buy what is cheapest not what will be strong to last. Then will tell everyone about the bad product - not that they were being cheap and did not get what was needed. There are alot of companies out there that make great products. I have also used winters, hughes,B&M,TCI,TSI,BTE,A-1 to name a few and they all make good stuff but you only get what you pay for. A $350 converter will work great with a stock 350 but will cost you a fortune if you try it behind a 850hp BBC. Just my 2 cents that I have learned about buying the right parts the first time no matter who makes them.
