strange s series carrier

#1 Post by rustbucket » Thu Apr 17, 2008 4:08 pm

sunday i spit my factory 9 inch out the front and on to the track :x. ive got a friend that will sell me a strange s carrier, a strange pinion support, new pro gears for $800 installed. He will still use my spool and axles. That sounds like a good price but im not sure how much stronger this carrier is than a factory one.
Im guessing on the bottle im somewhere around 750 + horsepower.
How much are these units good for?
Also, how much et difference would there be between a 4.86 and 5.00 gear?
I run the 6.0 heads up and with the 5.00 gear it consistantly runs
6.0-6.05
thanks, tony

IMO, I don't think the S series is what your looking for. I don't think it is rated for more than 600 horse. I bought a Strange pro 9" center section last season and it was about $1100. Its a nodular case, pro gear, new spool, billet pinon support, and HD yoke. It was all set up ready to go in about a day and half. Check out the Strange web site sould help with your decision. I looked at all the major suppliers and Stange had the best price for what you get and I am local so picked it up. You know how it goes, you get what you pay for.

Good luck, Tom
