Brake fluid DOT 3 or DOT 5

#1 Post by dadnova » Wed May 20, 2009 12:07 am

Looking for advice from someone who has ran both fluids.

Is the stopping power better on the DOT 5 and is it worth clearing all the braking system of fluid to switch over to the DOT 5 for the much higher boiling point??
Gotta plan, spend it before she can, and go as fast as you can.

I would not go with the DOT 5 as it is synthetic fluid and will NOT adsorb any moisture...I used a Dot 4 fluid and have had no problems and when it turns a darker color just flush it out with new fluid....Good luck
