 Post subject: transbreak creaps

we have a problem with the brake not holding the car, just wondering on ideas to look for the car is a 65 impala 950hp 565 with a glide, as soon as the brake is engaged and the foots of the brake it creaps forward any help would be appreciated thanks wayne

My car will do that if I don't rev the motor up a bit before engaging the trans brake. The band that the trans brake activates may need to be adjusted as well.

the motor does get a rev and the band is backed of a half turn from being nipped up

If its creeping forward the low gear band is not slipping, the reverse clutch is.

Concur.

What pressures are you running in the trans ? And/or, is the transbrake solenoid activating fully ?

Check pressures, should be at least 200 psi with a brake.
