Broke my 200r4

#1 Post by 1quickchevy2 » Sat Aug 14, 2010 8:58 pm

Hey guys, I broke my 200r4 two days ago and i'm thinking of going back to a th350. This thing was supposed to be good for a couple more hundred horsepower than I have, and it only lasted 2000 miles. In your guys experiance, who builds the toughest th350?? The motor is a 421sbc. makes 600hp on pump fuel, and I plan on spraying up too 300hp with 114 octane. I've thought about a th400, but I'm not sure that It'll fit the tranny tunnel in my 67 nova. The tunnel has been modifyed a lil before to sqeeze in the th350. The car came equiped with a glide from the factory. Any opinions and suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

I know that a two-speed is not as much fun on the street, but have you considered going to a Glide ? If I have any more issues with this thing of mine (I've been through several TH400's in the last 4 years), I'm gonna look at a Glide for the Camaro.

Ya i've thought about it, my car's not super light, so I don't know how it'll be. I called Rossler today, got put on hold, then got told I'd get a call back..never did happen though... Guess I'll try again tomorrow.

I'd be guessing to tell you the truth.. probably 3200 ish. It has a tci front clip, which saves 50lbs, but I've added a 4-link, and sheet metal diff/ w currie 9+ center section and currie axles. So that probably balances out... All steel car, full interior, glass windows. I know its not a tank, but it's no stripped down 2500lb ride

Thats not to heavy for a glide but if your set up for a 3 speed you should be able to get a th350 built to handle the hp you got.

Thought a TH200-R4 was supposed to be able to withstand Turbo Buick V6's? :nutkick:
