Ran in the 10 in my nova
Last saturday at Atco t/t I finally got my 72 nova in the 10s on motor.Starting out with two 11.02 at 121 I was happy being my best so far so I tried shifting higher from 6500 to 7000 to see if it would make any difference. The car left hard(1.53) and felt like a great run and after getting my time slip I went crazy reading it. I went a 10.89 at 122mph with a little 355!!!. I tried leaving harder but all I got was a spinning 11.03.My last two runs were a 10.98 and a 10.93 before my fuel pump started acting up and I put her on the trailer. I gotta say even though its slow compaired to other peoples cars it made me very happy and now wanting more out of it so I will see what I can do during the winter.
Its a 30 over 350 with GM block, steel GM crank and rods,Manley 12 1/2 pistons,Elderbrock aluminim heads gone over,Team G intake with a 950 hp carb. Turbo 350 with a unknow 8 inch converter and a 12 bolt with 410 gears and 275 drag radials,3 inch 2 chamber flowmaster mufflers. It does have a NOS fogger on it and hopefully will have the fuel system done for it by spring to run Atco heads up 10.0 class.

Thats movin, espically with a 355. My dad has a similar 355 in a 59 chevy truck that weighs 2860 race ready with him in it we are tying to get into the 10's. It has track 1's and a super victor, with a th 400, soon to be a glide and a 5500 stall converter. It has been 11.20 at I think 120. Your nova has some aerodynamic advatages, but what does it weigh?

Congrats Greg!!!
Re: Ran in the 10 in my nova
Congratulations - and lemme share my thoughts with ya: A ride that will turn 10's in the 1/4 is not slow in any regard. There are faster rides, but producing a time slip reading 10.anything is a significant accomplishment. Good job :)
And yes. It is addictive and you will want to go much faster. Ask me how I know

Re: Ran in the 10 in my nova
Thanks for all the reply guys and Thanks. It means alot to me. I never had the car weighed yet but all that is missing is the back seat and door panels and as soon as I can I will be installing them. Im getting tired of hearing people say its a race car because of the missing interior parts. If I was only rich, lol. Hopefully during the winter I will get the rear discs intalled along with my slightly used borla xr1 race mufflers and a areomotive a1000 pump to feed both the engine and nos.
Ther are some pics of my toy at Atco last saturday.Enjoy and Thanks!!! The first one is the 10.89 run. Greg
