New combo, going to a race with no testing :(

436 sbc with brodix 23* heads 13.5:1
C16 fuel
Fogger (.028n 28f @ 5.5psi)
Cheater plate (.082n & .091f @ 5.5psi)

Plate is wired to trans brake and a WOT switch, the fogger will be on a digiset timer. Might or might not use them together.

What kind of motor timing do you think and how much to pull out with each system?

I'd start at 36 degrees on the motor. I'd pull 8 degrees for your plate, but I'd also lean it way out. That's going to be really rich. I'd square it up as a starting point. Might need to lean it out a little from there as well.

I'll let someone else comment on the fogger since I've only run plates up to this point.

13.5:1 compression and set at 36????huh! id think 32-33 tops.yep square jets providing your motor is running clean or a tic rich.flow test your plate at 5.5 psi because i found my celenoid pulsated so i must run 6lbs or more....take out 1 degree for every 25 hp nitrous jump to start and be safe

If you're planning on racing with no testing, then don't get your hopes up. First of all, I'd pick one of those systems to get started with, don't try and run both kits at the same time till you get them both lined out and are sure of what you're doing. You listed out of the box NOS brand jetting, which is pig fat - NOS is revising those tune ups with their new kits. The old ones like what you've listed are stupid fat.

Let's assume you're running around 36 degrees or so with the engine now, motor only. Each engine likes different tune ups some will need big jet spreads, others won't. Best thing to do is start with small jets and plenty of timing out and work your way up by reading the plugs as that's the most likely way to avoid hurting things.

What jets do you have available?

How serious is this race? Will it be worth it if you burn a piston or two? Or do you want to play it safe?

23 degrees usually require a little more timing than heads with more efficient chambers. Combine that with the C16 fuel and I don't think I'm too far off. My 18 degree 15:1 434 runs best at 33 degrees.

Ive been running my car all season on one kit, with the capabilities of having two. I dont recomend starting with both. Tuning them to both work together is something that takes time. I had a few hits on two kits at the end of this year and I didnt quit have it right yet. I can tell you that my fogger got me down the track all year. Id start at 32n 28f @5.5 pounds and pull 10 degrees on your fogger. Im new to the plate so Ill let everybody else chime in on that.
