Rear wing on 69 nova...

#1 Post by 434 nova » Mon Jan 17, 2011 6:35 pm

I am looking to get a rear wing for my car, like one from ed quay. My question is at what speed does it become functional. I dont want to put one on my car and it does nothing. Right now my car runs 132 mph in the 1/4 on motor and will be spraying 300 on it and looking for 145-150 mph. Is it worth it right now with me only mph 132. thanks

I wouldnt put one on there unless you just like the looks. We have been 141mph in the 1/8 with no wing and car was very stable.

They start working at 87.72 MPH  Just kidding...

I'm building one right now for my Nova. Most of the time, it hooked up pretty good down track. Once in a while it wanted to get a little loose due to track prep or whatever. Not just seat of the pants, this is observed on the Driveshaft RPM. So I'm putting one on it. Might not make it any faster, but might make it more stable. Course, I'll take faster if it works
