Ya, my town is a drug infested hole. But there is alot of outdoor activies here. Skiing, water sports, mountain climing, fishing, indoor skidiving, snowmobiling, biking, etc.
I was just venting. One of the police officers is a friend, and one is a customer.

I have been lurking for a while so I figured I better introduce myself (James from Deer Park, Tx). I built my first track only car (78 Camaro) back in early 90 and raced for about 7-8 years. The car ran 10.20's@133 on motor (383 w/AFR220's) and 9.60@138 with a 100 shot @ 3180lbs. Lost everything in the Allison storm and stopped racing for 10+ years. Last year I found a good deal on a 1988 Mustang and started racing again. I have always been a Chevy guy but couldn't pass up the deal on this Ford.

Nice looking Fox Body! What's the Mustang run? What's the drive train?
Beware, alot of Chevy guys here! On a quiet night, you can hear a Chevy rust...

Thanks! Its a 417 ... Man O War block 4.125" bore, Lunati 3.90" crank, GRP 6.25" rods, 15:1 JE Pistons, Kuntz ported Track 1X heads and 2924 intake, Kuntz cam, Pro Systems HP1000, Wilson Pro Flow plate, Kooks 2" headers with 4" bullets, Glide w/1.80 gear, 8" UCC converter and a 8.8 with 4.56 gears. The car weighs 2940 lbs and has a stock suspension (UPR, AutoFab).

I have 11 runs on the new setup .... its been 5.91@116 several times now on motor with a 1.33 60' . I have not ran it out the back but it has been 9.49@123 lifting on the big end. I had a high speed miss that stumped me for the first 6-7 runs. I fixed the miss ... now I'm working on the suspension (IC and AS %) to get the 60' down. So far its been 1.31 60' but I think it should be a 1.28 or better. Before I started messing with the suspension it was only good for a 1.38-1.42 60' so I'm making progress. I still haven't used the nitrous system .... waiting for the suspension to get dialed in.

It's ok guys, he used to be a Camaro owner and his current car is running a glide, so that qualifies him.... :thumb:

I guess stepping down from a Camaro to a Ford isn't as bad as stepping down to a Nova...... :smt005 :smt005

Welcome to the site James.

Ha ha, I learned something about you tonight. We need an all in, Camaro vs. Nova shootout. I would include the Corvette guys, but we (I) dont want to show anyone up...
