My name is Jeff and I live in south central Ohio,I am 43 years old and I have three sons(24,21,and 20 yrs old) I am a pipewelder by trade and am national board certified with stick and TIG processes,I have been married for going on 25 yrs.
My ride is a 1976 vega that I bought stock and I have made all the additions to it myself,it has an all aluminum 406 sbc,1.80 powerglide, and a 9" with all Moser internals,it is an all steel car except the hood and its best time at the track is a 9.99@ 127 lifting around 1100" as the bolt on hood was separating into two pieces  ,the converter is built for nitrous but the camshaft is not ,it has a NOS bigshot plate on it that has not been used, but we are hoping for 8.80's-9.0's on a 200 shot. The car is my street car and only goes to the track a couple times a year,I dident take it at all last year due to it getting inside 10.0 and needing additional safety equipment.
I am currently doing chassis/rollcage work for others and I have a full roundtube 7.50 s-10 chassis underway for someone.
I am hoping to meet all of you in the forum!Image
Man, I love the look and stance of that ride !!! I grew up during the 60's when everything was jacked up and ran big & littles. It wasn't until the ProStreet stuff caught on that people were actually narrowing rear ends and tubbing their rides. Your Vega is pretty and it has a perfect stance and look, and the fact that it's your street ride is pretty cool !!! :thumb:

Welcome to the forum - lots of good folks here running some really fast stuff - have fun :) :smt003

Come on Harry, tell the truth, you know you put me up to this. Next your going to blame my buddy Mike P for all of this... :smt005

Yeah...yeah....I'll take the blame.

Welcome to the site Jeff. Nice car. You'll fit in well with all the other "V" car owners...

Sit back and have some fun. Bunch of good guys on here. Oh, you don't run rim screws do you????

Guess I shouldn't have opened up that can again, huh?

Hey guys, my name is Adam and I'm from Upstate, NY. I'm 38 and have been with UPS for 19 years. Most of my junk has been stock suspension street cars. Current car is a 68 Valiant with ladder bars, 10.5 tire. I also have a 69 Nova, but I'm selling it for a better car which I'm getting next month :D

Thanks guys :thumb: I like the Nova, I just found a car I like better and something has to go, lol. If I had the money I'd keep it and finish it later. It's a pretty cool car. I've been a Mopar guy my whole life, but I appreciate anything that's fast. And I like 68-72 Nova's the most for a non Mopar ride.

Here's another pic of my Valiant for the guy that asked...... I used to own the Dart parked behind it too.

Welcome to the site, Ten5Valiant.

What's the deal with the Duster? Looks like it was a nice car.

Do you live near the Clifton Park area?

Thanks, I live near Syracuse. ESTA is my home track. The Duster was OK, but had some "issues". I bought it cause I thought I got a good deal on it. And it was a real 340 car, for what that's worth.

The steering column was safety wired to the steering box when I got it. I didn't know it at first, but caught it when I was installing the engine. Someone hacked up the end of the column, and instead of a roll pin, they used safety wire.

The car didn't have fenderwells either, which I don't like. They cut the whole fenderwell out for two tubes on each side.

The last pass I made in the car, the brake pedal rod fell out of the master cylinder when it launched! Someone ground it down to fit an aluminum master, and never put the gromet back in to hold the rod in it. Luckily it rested on the edge of the piston so I could still stop it. That did it for me, it had to go, lol. I could have fixed it right, but what would have been next?!
