Thanks for the welcome.
Ha ha I did think about putting a camaro front clip on it but got talked out of it.
No ponch power for me. Plans as of now are to run an LSX engine in it. I would like to go efi with a turbo but will have to see how much money I have left after the roller is finished.
I may just throw in a 5.3 and spray it for the first year or so. Either way it will be a street driven car.
Keeping the car it self fairly simple. Not trying to build a show car. Just something fun to drive on the street and lay down a respectable et at the track.

Not a bad looking ride at all and a great starting point. Little LS motors make good power with just a few changes, let us know if we can help you out.

Welcome to the group :-)

Yep, that's a great starting point and it'll be nice to see another Pontiac in the mix. Not enough of them in play, so it'll be nice to watch your progress :thumb:

Thanks guys. Ya the car is pretty solid but it was a stripped shell when I got it.
Came up from California that way about 10 years ago and sat with about 25 other pontiacs that my friend will never finish lol.
Fenders, doors, hood are all brand new. The red hood in the pic was too far gone. Found a nice goodmark hood for cheap.1/4s need a bit of work but over all a very solid car.
I will start a thread later when I gather some more pics of the progress.

Well, sinces it's an aftermarket hood it won't hurt much when you cut the hole for the blower :smt003

Nice poncho. I had a 69 back in the day. I ran into a serious lack of hood availability for the bird and ended up taking the top panel for a camaro and bolting it to the car, and fabbing a metal nose piece that i welded to the camaro panel and finished it out. That allowed me to use a harwood cowl hood for a camaro...

Hi all. Name is Bob from Northern California. The ride is a scratch built 1923 Track-T weighing 1790 lbs. Running a Dart block, Scott Shafiroff built 427 sbc, Tremec TKO 600 5 speed, Jag IRS 3.54 and 31" tires. Mounted engine and transmission so low in the frame rails that CG is at or below spindle height. This ride has been roaming the streets for the last 20 years with (3) different engines and a Muncie M21 before the Tremec.

Just up the hill near Placerville. During cruising season I'm a regular at Hog Wild Ribs in Placerville the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the week. Great ribs, here are a few of the rides, come up and join us...........

You may not want it at this point. I've only had it in since last week, have driven it twice, less than 50 miles and then this.....
Last engine was for mellow cruising, built it for torque at the lowest possible rpm. 383 sbc, 320 HP @ 4050 rpm, 516 lb/ft @ 2800 rpm. It was fun to short shift with all that torque so low in the rpm band and my tall gearing. Check the speed and rpm up this grade....
Image

But I really missed the high rpm zing of a circle track 355 engine that though less displacement produced 386 HP. It turned a 10.8 @ 132 at the Sacramento Raceway. So now when I get the leak cured on that new Shafiroff 427 sbc, I hope to have the best of both worlds except what the 383 could do off idle. The 427 doesn't care for rpm less than 2000.
