the other car

#1 Post by ytnova » Tue May 20, 2008 7:41 pm

Well, I got my other car out of storage, it been sitting at my dads house for three years while I have been busy remodeling my house and getting the nova squared away. The bad news is I had to park the nova over there while I finish cleaning out the garage so they can both be home again. Its no nova, and not even a chevy, but its still old and will make a good 6.50 index car once its updated. pics...

Yep, but more like late 70's rage. The car was bought new as a red 340 four barrel car and went directly to a shop and became a super stock race car. Somewhere along the way the 340 went bye-bye and in came the wedge and lived a couple more year index and bracket racing. My dad bought the car in the early 80's and I bought it from him in the mid 90's. I am just updating it, and making it a little more street freindly. I just put a new set of 315 mt radials on it and some new front runners are on the way. I still have to redo the exhaust ad finish up the brake. I will post up some more pics as it comes along.

I was thinking 81 or 82 ish Those are the cars I remember seeing crusing the streets when I was just a kid but they are the one that made the lasting impressions on me and got me into cars full force. 8-)

Its a really cool car, we just took it to a local show and got a lot of good response even though it was a street rod show. Its quite a handfull to drive with the 5 speed but its fun.

There is supposed to be one coming to MAKO with a big wedge headed engine. The car is a '68 Barracuda which formerly went by the name of Brown Sugar. There is a video of it over on You Tube, running at Atco.

Whew, the dart is done. Going to get it aligned this week and going to the track next week to see how she runs. The nova came home today, finally, and it is resting nicely in the garage, so it is time to get cracking and get the nova into the mid eights and get ready for all the fall races. Final pics of the dart:

I am not really sure what the question is, but I am pretty sure the answer is Big Block.
