PLEASE HELP NEED PICTURES OF HOMEMADE AIRBOXES

#1 Post by Necessary Evil » Tue Nov 25, 2008 6:13 pm

Can some of you guys please post pictures of your airboxes. I need to build one for my Nova and need some direction and ideas. I hope i am calling it by it's correct name. I know it works well with the cowl induction hoods and there is a cut hole in the middle so it sits on the carb. I seen the pictures posted here before but spend a good 3 hours last night trying to find them with no luck.

I have an actual air cleaner base ( made from fiberglass) with foam on it that is specifically designed to seal on a cowl hood. Ill post a pic when I can get one. It was on my monte carlo when I got it so I dont know who makes it but I could find out.

Heres some pics of the "air pan" I have. Its more like an air cleaner housing it had a regular 14" moroso base with the lip cut off to mount to the carb and a K&N filter with K&N extreme top. Its 23" wide on the outside and 17" wide on the inside.

My Monte has a 2-1/2" steel cowl hood that "airpan" fits the opening perfect and seals really well.I could find out who makes it if you want.
