Pulling 18 is petty excessive for a 300 shot..

Re: pulling timing out for nos
I usually start with 2 degrees out per 50hp worth of spray and start creeping some back in, checking the plugs every pass until I know what the combo likes.
I am not really sure what the question is, but I am pretty sure the answer is Big Block.

Re: pulling timing out for nos
my conventional head sbc, seems to like 3 to 4 degrees per 100 shot retard.
i have tried to be "safe" before by pulling more and ended up hurting pistons with unburnt fuel under the top ring and lifted the top land.
18 is too much for 300.
12 is plenty to start with.
