Brake question

#1 Post by gmracing355 » Sun Oct 04, 2009 11:27 pm

Hi alll, I installed areospace front disc on my 72 nova with the stock rear drums and I have a question about the brake pedal. There are two holes in the pedal and mine is on the top hole. I was tald that the rod should go into the bottom hole but the rod will not line up without bending it witch would be a no no in my book.Do I have to get a different rod?
Im wondering because the car does not have alot of pedal pressure to hold and slow the car down without putting my foot through the floor. I have a nova master cylinder with a 1 1/8 bore.
Thanks for the help,Greg

Greg,

This is what I was told because I had the same question.

The top hole is used for manual brakes and the bottom hole is used for power assisted brakes.

Even in my shop manual for my 69 Camaro, it shows for manual brakes, the clip/ pin being installed in the top hole.

Hope this helps.

Bruce
