Also note at the bottom that rim screws are NOT recommended for the radials. Jesse Lambert posted pics on the D/R board where his tires the beads got torn apart by rim screws...very dangerous situation.

This is what it actually says:

If continued or excessive (more than ½” to 1”per run) wheel/slip is experienced, Mickey Thompson recommends the use of “Beadlock” wheels for ET Street Radials. Bead screws are not recommended and could lead to tire failure and or damage.

Are street radials the same as drag radials? I'm running screws until I can afford bead locks.

If you are not running tubes, does that still apply? It would make sense with tubes as to not shear off the valve stem.

that is when High Tack or beadlocks come in. running 7.56 @ 181 on a 275 may require something to hold the tire to the rim when the car is @3500lb

I saw those pictures of Jesse's tire, did anyone ever find out if there was anything weird going on with that? Like the screws stripped, or not threaded into the bead? That's the only set I've seen anyone post about doing that.

Why would Drag Radials do it and not Slicks? Different bead construction?

I'm no tire expert, but I can only assume there is a difference in the bead construction. Would be interesting to get the input from both Hoosier & M/T engineers on the subject.

Ya know, fixation is the first sign of severe addiction. So, is it the screws, the rubber, or something else that has everyone breathing hard ? What fetish is at play here ? Is this something Special Ed infected everyone with ? There's probably a shot you can get to clear this up, some sort of wonder drug (like they had in the Navy way back when) that'll clear most of this right up.

I'm just saying...

I did talk to a M/T engineer today and he said not to run scews or tubes in drag radials. Also said glueing would not help, to run beadlocks.

I'm doing everything he said not to do....... Well, no tubes,
