It's got so many apps that are more "geek" oriented, and has a wonderful screen. I'm using a Storm right now, but I keep snatching my bud's phone and using it more than he does so I'm getting very used to it. As soon as my contract is up I can switch from the Storm to the Droid.

The site gives me some fits using the original BB browser, but works great on Opera Mini!

I really think that the Droid would treat you well John.
Have you played with the iPhone ? I'm gonna try my hand at writing some iPhone apps with Opera or Cocoa, whatever the hell they use. It's an object based framework which should be pretty straightforward to use.

If I build anything cool I'll share it... :)

Yeah, it's just like the iPhone, right, without the cell capability. Have you seen the new iPad from Apple ? Just like your Touch but big, tablet sized.

Yes you are correct. Actually you can send text and make calls with the Ipod Touch if you have a mic adapter and are hooked up to a wireless network.

The ipad looks cool, but it doesnt do some things that i thought it would like multi-task or exaple.. thats kinda stupid, but i am sure they will release a update over time that will unlock alot of the things it can actually do over time.
The $800 Ipad has a 3G cell chip in it so that you can get internet anywhere there is a 3G network which is pretty cool.

John, I switched to a droid phone... Samsung Moment with Google and touch screen

Dragstuff loads on it then QUICKLY blocks me out... I can go to all the other forums and site I play with but this one will not allow me in.... I am comfortable that its not me or the phone.... but I could be wrong...

Any one else have this issue?

There's a lot of "stuff" running on this site lol - which page or section specifically are you seeing this happen? The forums, home page, tech, classifieds? When you say it won't allow you in, what's it do?

Update - JohnH try it again. I turned something off let's see if that works...

I just tried it again.... Index page/ forum all of them... goes to load and shows the logo and the page and the Immediately bounces me back to my home screen on my phone...

ON EDIT.....
Ok John I apologize... it must be me.... I opened a differant browser ( Opera Mini 5 Beta) and it loaded fine and allowed me to bookmark the page....
So it must be my factory installed browser on the phone issue.....

No change on the factory installed browser.... I prefer to use that one over the Opera Mini..

Thanks John

I got these two bean cans with a string tied between them. No contract, no minutes, no problems.

Yes, I finally got a Droid as well...rooted it and have a TON of applications for it. I love that I can tether it to my laptop and be on the net without the "extra" data tethering fee that Blackberrys charge...

ConnectBot might be what you are looking for to connect to your datalogger system...if it uses SSH or telnet or even a local connecting might work to it! I've never messed with a datalogger, so I don't know what types of interfaces they use.

But, yes that would be cool. Finish a run, bring up wifi and pull your data down to the phone and upload it to your home computer immediately and have all your previous runs to compare to.

Not that a laptop doesn't do that as well...but it's still cool to do with a "cell" phone :)

THe default browser on this thing rocks...NO need for another type!
