got some good numbers today on the dyno

#1 Post by 68 chevelle » Wed Apr 28, 2010 10:08 pm

Just got back and had a great time at the dyno only because the motor made more than I was hopping 8-) .
The motor is a 565 with dart 320 heads with some work done, single carb w/2927 intake, nitrous cam, no vacuum pump (just didn't have time mount it) c16 fuel and still made 716tq and 932hp at 7400rpms. I didn't want to rev it anymore than that yet. Dyno guy thinks with the vacuum pump and taking up to 7800rpms it should make 950hp. Looks like I'm going to have some fun this year :smt003

Nice number! Have you though about going to Q-16? HP in a barrel..... It will require a new tune. A Star Machine Vacuum pump will add power too.

I think I'm gonna have to put a call in to CFM and talk about a port job to upgrade my little heads this fall or winter.

I'll be sure to super. But it wont happen for several months. I'm still trying to get my junk together, then I'll hunt for upgrades.

A vacuum pump can add as much as 55 h.p. with low drag rings. With 1/16 rings my old 540 made an extra 26 rwhp.
