HELP ! Adam got his Gran Prix stolen !!!@

#1 Post by John_Heard » Thu May 06, 2010 10:40 am

Guys Adam got his car stolen in Caney KS about 1 hr ago at a gas station.

We might be able to find it if we can figure out how to trigger his phone to update. It's a Blackberry and it has Google Latitude running on it. THe phone is ON. But we can't get latitude to update to show us the phones location.

Any ideas????

Cant the cel provider track the gps. Even if the latitude cant be tracked from another phone. I thought as long as the gps was turned on, they could tell you where the phone is. good luck.

Problem is US Cellular requires a court subpoena to locate a phone, which the police and KBI are working on. Course the thief may have thrown the phone out the window, we don't know yet.

If we could have figured out how to trigger Latitude to update remotely we could have maybe had a chance on catching them. We do think the phone is still on. But may not be with the car now?

He's attempting to turn on Location History in Google Latitude to see if that will trigger an update on the phone, or maybe show a better location than the cell tower.

The worst part is it was his "girlfriend's car", good thing she really loves Adam.
