What do you think of my site???

#1 Post by BracketNova » Thu Dec 23, 2010 9:06 pm

http://www.findmoneyraces.com

Was going to post this in the event section, but maybe it is better suited here. I noticed you keep that section pretty trimmed up John.

Anyways, I haven't been around the site much lately. This is why. I have put together a site for track owners to list races, and when a racer searches them it brings them back by the total payout.

There are a few other sites out there like this, but there hard to use and cluttered with junk.

Please check it out and give me some feedback :)

For now, I have bogus races listed in my area. So if you try it out enter 1000 in the miles or search from 50010 as a zip.

Then I am sure you entered your local tracks email to get them started

Seriously though, want to get some feedback from my friends here and then it's on to marketing to the tracks so we can all actually use it. :thumb:

Good luck getting the tracks to work with ya. It's hard enough getting them to post their own schedules on their sites, let along actually take the time to distribute them. Hope it works for ya.

Indeed, my plan is to send each track 2 or 3 postcards this spring with a coupon code on them. I have coupons set up in a manner that I can make each coupon worth a different amount of tokens/listings. So I am hoping I can appeal to the 'I might be able to get something free crowd'. I figured I would say each coupon is worth 1 to 5 listing and have all of them be at least 2 so no body gets the minimum.

I am also hoping tracks without websites, like the circle tracks, might use my site in lieu of having their own.

I could make it free, but I don't want junk listings in it; and I don't really want to have to review all the listings.

Do you have any Google tips for me John? ;)

Yes, I have a entire book worth of tips at http://www.searchenginenews.com/ that's a good start, once you get done reading that and have questions let me know.

Thats a great idea for a website. I hope it works out. I added three local track emails so you could get them some info.

@John - haven't sent anything to the tracks yet...want to make sure the site is as good as it can be before I do. Which is why I posted to see if anyone has any feedback or finds anything difficult to use. I'm going to make an android app for the site soon and a friend will do one for the iPhone. I'll start advertising then, I'm thinking in about two weeks. I'm trying to hit the tracks when they are already thinking about getting their races on their own sites.

@Jr - Thanks for the help! It sends a standard email telling them about the site and expresses that a racer entered their email. It sends as soon as you click the button. So you did my work for me ;) Thinking about it though, I may want to 'capture' all of those addresses that go through there.

Cool - was it hard to make the app?

Is it in the Android Market?
