Another round of the "Guessing Game"
Lets see who gets the closest ET to what my car will run this Friday night.
The new converter is in, the new 1200 carb is on, nitrous bottles are full. I think we're ready for some more testing.
Here's some spec's on the new combo: 1/8 mi.
572 ci, 14-1, .817- .790 lift, 296 - 308 duration at .050, 114 installed at 112, head work.
1200 CFM carb
Wilson nitrous system up 400 hp.
Powerglide
275 M/T drag radials
3.70 rear gear
Ok let's see those guesses!!!!!!!

Re: Another round of the "Guessing Game"
I'm off work Friday so we'll get to the track early, say 5 ish. They're running a 5.50 class Fryday night, if testing goes well I'll put the car in that class and see what happens. I hope the converter works good this time. It sure is getting old taking it out and sending back.John_Heard wrote:What time Friday night? and you're keeping the radials on?
The radials are staying on but I do have a brand new set of 10.5's siting in the shop.

Re: Another round of the "Guessing Game"
You haven't ran it on the Nitrous yet right?
I'm going to be conservative and say 5.70 range this time out due to the very hot conditions, probably bad air and very little time to work on the Nitrous tune up.

Re: Another round of the "Guessing Game"
We've had it on nitrous the last time out and on a .082 pill arangement, it blu through the converter so bad the shift light didn't go out going into high gear. It had a 300 rpm drop. Now if the converter is good, I was told by Hughes I should see a 1000 rpm drop. The car ran low 5.9's with the bad converter and that was in the heat of the day (100*). I'm thinking leave the tune up alone and try the new converter and see where it's at. Running a 9 jet spread, fuel pressure at 7 psi, 9 degrees out, safe tune up. If the converter does good (and I hope it does ) we'll start tuning it up.John_Heard wrote:You haven't ran it on the Nitrous yet right?

I'm thinking it should see 5.7's with the same tune up and the new coverter.

Re: Another round of the "Guessing Game"
I like watching pass time so I'll take a stab at it.
6.40 N/A 112
5.76 on the .082 121mph
5.68 123mph .093 jet
On the .082 jet your pulling 9 from what base?

Assuming you are spraying 400 hp, I'll guess 5.48. Good luck!!!
