I hear what you guy's are saying about the heat, track temps and small tires. One good thing out of all that is the track is not going to open the gates until 7:00 pm and lets us run until 2:00 am so we might see cooler temps to run in besides 103*.........
LOL It will cool down to 98* instead!
LOL Oh well we have to go try.
Thanks you guy's for all the support and hopefully luck is on our side.
Results soon follows.......
The very first run I ever made with the Camaro the temp was just over 100 degrees. Ya gotta really, really want to go racing on days like that.
Of course, you really do appreciate it when the temps drop way down to 90...

That sucks, but at least it's something easy to fix.

Good luck! We'll be watching for results.
Wish I was ready to race this weekend. Hopefully next weekend. No use testing on a normal race day, so I'll probably go to Ohio Valley in Louisville for their outlaw race and maybe enter their TT5 class. I'll be on 8.5s so it'll be a knife at a gun fight. But maybe I can surprise myself and get a first round win and not qualify last.

I got to make 5 passes and was working on suspension and nitrous tuning. It was on a pass that might have been in the .50's when the trans went south. It left with the front wheels in the air, set them down and picked them back up as the nitrous was coming in. it was pulling like never before, ran out about 250 ft and the shift light came on so I put in high gear and bam!!! the trans lost high gear right after the shift........Man was it pulling.
It was set up with a .082 nitrous pill and has a lot more left in it...... The new motor looks to be very promissing in the power department for sure.
At first it wouldn't even get off the line so I made some suspension setting changes and it kept getting better and better. I learned a lot in those 5 passes. It was a good test night.
We'll get the trans fixed and get back out there asap.

Besides the damage to the tranny, sounds like you made some great progress.
So what was the LOW ET of the night??

Not good. I only made 1 motor pass and when the tanny went south was going to be the only full pass it would have made on nitrous. The rest of the passes were through aways for testing. 6.50 on motor. I have a great starting point for the next time out. Need to make a simple ladder bar change, fix the trans and go try it again.......
